Award-winning: comprei is one of Austria's best employers

On May 15, 2025, the ARIANA event location in Vienna's Seestadt Aspern was transformed into a meeting place for the HR elite. Under the motto "For All Stars Night", Great Place to Work (GPTW) honored the country's best employers for the 23rd time.

Around 400 guests from the worlds of business, media and politics gazed intently at the big stage while presenter Barbara Fleißner and GPTW Austria Managing Director Jörg Spreitzer hosted the evening.

Award ceremony: Moments we will never forget

When our name flashed up for the first time - "comprei, 1st place Best Workplace Austria, Category M " - there was spontaneous jubilation. The tension gave way to pure joy; team members hugged each other, laughed, held up the trophies and were caught up in the flurry of flashbulbs and cameras.

Achim Angermeier, our Managing Director, summed up the sentiment perfectly:

A gala evening that makes values visible

The event offered more than just trophies. In inspiring keynotes, jury members shared research findings on the economic effects of excellent workplace culture: according to this, award-winning companies achieve up to twice the average increase in turnover. At the same time, the speakers made it clear that successful employers do not act as an end in itself, but out of genuine conviction.

For our team, it was particularly noticeable how many other company leaders are taking the same path: away from rigid hierarchies and towards responsibility, transparency, purpose and personal development. The gala provided us with fresh ideas - and additional motivation to become even better.

How GPTW defines excellence

Great Place to Work is a global research and consulting organization. The aim is to identify workplaces where a culture of performance and trust prevails. At the heart of this is the anonymous Trust Index™ employee survey. It measures how credible managers are, how fair decisions are, how respectfully people treat each other, whether employees are proud of their employer and how strong the team spirit is.

In addition, the Culture Audit™ evaluates personnel and management processes documented in writing. Only those who achieve exceptional results in both parts receive the GPTW certificate. Of all the certified companies, only a small number make it onto the annual "Best Workplace" lists.

The award in detail

1st place - Best Workplace Austria (category 100-249 employees)

Category M is aimed at medium-sized companies, which often form the backbone of the Austrian economy. In this field, GPTW recognizes employers that offer professional structures on the one hand and maintain a family atmosphere on the other.

Why we won

Trust as a management principle: we make decisions transparently. Employees know targets, key figures and background information.
Clear processes, short paths: thanks to agile methods, we manage demanding cleanroom projects efficiently.
Further training is both compulsory and optional: a fixed training budget and internal cleanroom training courses ensure that everyone can expand their specialist knowledge.
Health and safety: Ergonomic workstations, state-of-the-art cleanroom protective clothing and regular screenings ensure well-being.

We achieved a score of 96 percent in the Trust Index 2025. This means that nine out of ten employees would recommend us as an employer to their best friends. This puts us well above the Austrian average of around 55 percent.
