Austrian SDG Award 2025 for comprei, the winners

A milestone for sustainable action in Austria: comprei wins the SDG Award 2024

The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015, provide a global agenda for combining social justice, environmental protection and economic progress. These goals are not just a call to action, but a commitment to a future worth living on our planet. Companies in particular play a key role here, as they can combine innovation and responsibility.

This year, the Austrian SDG Awardwhich is presented by the Senate of Economy, once again showed what forward-looking commitment can look like. We are proud to announce that comprei Reinraum-Handel und Schulungs GmbH was the winner in the "Medium-sized companies" category.

Sustainability at comprei: more than just a principle

comprei's commitment to sustainability is deeply rooted in its corporate philosophy. As a leading company in contamination control, comprei sees it as its duty to create innovative solutions for a sustainable and safe working environment. This self-image is reflected in all areas: from resource-conserving production processes to environmentally conscious training practices.

A central component of the commitment is the path to climate neutrality. comprei has been actively committed to climate protection for years. The aim is to achieve climate neutrality through detailed accounting and the offsetting of greenhouse gas emissions. Emissions are recorded and offset according to the Scope 1, 2 and 3 categories of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. The measures implemented to reduce emissions include

  • Use of 100% green electricity since 2018,
  • Promotion of e-mobility for local transport since 2022,
  • Introduction of a paperless office in accounting since 2023,
  • 0 % disposal rate for expired merchandise since 2023 and
  • the "conversion instead of new construction" approach to avoid sealing green spaces and enable renaturation.

In addition, comprei supports important climate protection projects such as water treatment in Rwanda, solar energy in India and wind energy in Nicaragua.

ESG initiatives: Sustainability as a success factor

comprei has supported the voluntary implementation of ESG initiatives (Environmental, Social, Governance) as an integral part of the corporate strategy. These initiatives not only promote the company's success, but also actively contribute to a more sustainable future:

  • Environment (Environmental): Significant reduction in CO2 emissions, use of sustainable materials and promotion of environmentally friendly technologies.
  • Social: Focus on fair working conditions, diversity in the workforce and professional development that create a positive working environment and strengthen employee loyalty.
  • Governance: Transparent and ethical corporate management that creates trust among government agencies and customers and opens up new business opportunities.

This comprehensive commitment makes comprei a pioneer for sustainable and ethical business practices and strengthens the company's image in the long term.

A look ahead

Receiving the SDG Award is not only a recognition, but also an obligation. Managing Director Achim Angermeier sees this award as confirmation and an incentive: "Our goal is to understand sustainability not just as a concept, but as a lived practice. For our future, for our planet."

With this approach, comprei will continue to take responsibility, pursue innovative paths and set new standards for sustainability.
