Climate change is the greatest challenge since the end of the ice age. In order to keep the average temperature increase on Earth below 2 °C, or preferably below 1.5 °C, compared to the beginning of the industrial age, industrialized countries are called upon to drastically reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

comprei invests in our future and actively protects nature. For 2021, comprei has offset its company's CO2 EMISSIONS by purchasing 165 certificates from the "VCS Forest Uruguay + Peru" projects. Our partner is the company "Fokus-Zukunft". Fokus Zukunft is an industry-independent external sustainability consultancy for medium-sized companies.

VCS Forest Project Uruguay + Peru

The 'Madre de Dios' region is regarded by its population as the "Peruvian capital of biodiversity". The region is part of the Amazon rainforest and is also a nature reserve that is home to numerous endangered animal and plant species. However, illegal deforestation is threatening this biodiversity. The project is helping to develop initiatives that increase both the value of the healthy forest and the income from the sustainable harvesting of Brazil nuts. Small farmers are thus enabled to protect and conserve their forest. Regional families benefit from a secure source of income. Illegal deforestation thus becomes unattractive. The holistic approach of the project contributes to the sustainable protection of around 300,000 hectares of rainforest and achieves a saving of around 2 million tons of greenhouse gas emissions per year.
